Huang Yong Yu Art Exhibition

















Huang Yongyu was born in 1924 in Fenghuang, Hunan Province. He quit junior middle school at the end of his second year. At 16, he earned a living painting and engraving wood. He has worked in a porcelain factory, as a schoolteacher, as a newspaper editor, as a film screenwriter and as a professor at the fine arts academy.
He likes writing poems, essays, novels and screenplays. He has published picture albums, collections of poems and essays and albums of wood engravings. He has exhibited in China, Hong Kong, Australia, Germany and Italy

Huang Yongyu's lotus paintings show a vivid use of color combined with a free hand depiction of leaves and background.
